This is the site of Geoff Gannon, I'm an interactive developer specializing in Actionscript. Originally from northern California, I'm now based in Los Angeles, where you can usually find me at my computer building something, either for work or my own amusement.

I have recently started my new job as Flex Team Lead for Eternal Space here in LA, and I am not currently seeking any other work. Below are a few links to projects I've worked on in the past, and a brief description of my role on each.

MOUNTAIN DEW / DEWMOCRACY / LEAD FLASH DEVELOPER - GAMES / WHITTMANHART
This was our first large scale multi developer Actionscript 3 project as a group, and a great opportunity. I wrote a small library of base classes for use on all 30+ games on the Dewmocracy site. In addition, I built several of the games in entirety, and oversaw the work of 3 other developers as they built their games. Many of the games were tile based, so I wrote a simple level editor tool, for simplifying the process of creating level data to go in the XML. I also worked closely with our Art Director in determining the look and scope of each game. Since accessing the games on this site involves a rather lengthy log in process, I've provided a video capture of some of the game play for easier viewing.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON / SCREW IT SITE / LEAD FLASH DEVELOPER / WHITTMANHART
An very successful campaign for Harley, 16,000+ users have made submissions to this Actionscript 3 based site. My responsibilities for this one included teaching a developer the basics of working in AS3, then managing him while he built some of the features. I also built the gallery portion of the site, where calls are made by state to a Java based service that returns an XML result. I enjoy working with data heavy sites, this one gave me the opportunity to add pagination and some simple data caching, making it nice and easy to navigate through the result sets.

SCION / SCION BROADBAND / LEAD FLASH DEVELOPER / DNA STUDIO
This site makes use of Permission TV, an Actionscript based platform for the display and delivery of video based content. Due to a tight deadline, the majority of the site needed to be built before we were able to meet with Permission TV to learn about their API. With careful planning, we were able to centralize all our data needs within the site, so when time came to connect to PTV, it was nice and smooth. We made our deadline, and were able to deliver a site that the client was extremely pleased with. In the year and a half or so since the site has launched, I assisted a developer while he added new sections and features.

BUDWEISER / BUDWEISER.COM / FLASH FRAMEWORK DEVELOPER / WHITMANHART
One of our earlier multi developer projects, this is where we worked out a lot of the ideas that we used on subsequent sites. My role on this project was to create the central portion of the site, that managed the loading and status of all the internal sections and the navigation. This site made use of a great deal of video for all it's transitions and builds, and used numerous external data sources.

SONY PICTURES / CASINO ROYALE / PART OF 3 DEVELOPER FLASH TEAM / DNA STUDIO
A really fun project to work on, who wouldn't want to build a James Bond site? I worked primarily on games, along with the dossier section and the dynamic multi language setup. This XML driven site supports 12 different languages, displaying both eastern and western characters.

MARK WURTS DESIGN / PORTFOLIO SITE / LEAD DEVELOPER / GGANNON
Mark is a is highly skilled commercial artist based in Los Angeles. He needed a site that would provide an easy way for him to maintain his content, and share his work with potential clients. The solution was a flexible XML driven site, that allowed Mark to create what ever data structure he wanted. It also supports deep linking to individual projects.

SONY PICTURES / RV / LEAD FLASH DEVELOPER / DNA STUDIO
The site for this Sony comedy needed to reflect the whimsical tone of the film, so we went with a cartoonish feel to the animations and sound effects. I built the main site, and worked with contract developers to make sure their games would integrate properly into the base environment.

SONY PICTURES / MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA / LEAD FLASH DEVELOPER / DNA STUDIO
One of my earlier projects for DNA, this site had to be built very rapidly. We were able to make use of the strong visual images from the film, and create a site that captured the appropriate mood.
